In 2020, the per capita disposable income of farmers and herdsmen in the border counties of Xizang surpassed the regional average. Up to now, the maximum annual subsidy for border residents is up to 13,800 yuan per person.

Port Trade

From 2021 to 2023, 10 port inspection infrastructure construction projects were implemented. The Lektse Port has been accepted and opened for operation, and the Gyirong Border Economic Cooperation Zone has been approved. All land ports to Nepal have been opened for both passenger and cargo traffic. The total import and export freight volume via the ports has reached 333,300 tons, worth 10.846 billion yuan. The two figures show an average annual growth rate of 72.4% and 55.8% respectively.
