Develop Border Industries

Xizang prioritizes addressing the urgent needs to ensure border-area stability and tackling the most pressing concerns of border residents. By leveraging the unique resource endowment of border areas, it builds beautiful border towns tailored to local conditions, develops distinctive border industries, and promotes significant enhancements in the quality of life for border residents. In 2020, the per capita disposable income of farmers and herdsmen in the border counties of Xizang surpassed the regional average. Up to now, the maximum annual subsidy for border residents is up to 13,800 yuan per person.

Characteristic Industries

Xizang vigorously promotes industrial development in its border areas by formulating and implementing a series of preferential policies that support the development of characteristic industries in border counties and townships. Several key projects have been completed and put into operation, and a range of pilot demonstration projects have achieved positive results. The endogenous momentum for development in the border areas has steadily increased, continuously driving farmers and herdsmen to boost their income locally and achieve greater prosperity.
