Xizang places equal importance on ensuring stability and boosting economies in its border areas. It integrates the development of prosperous villages in border areas with the rural revitalization strategy, greatly improving the lives of people in border areas. It aims to be a guardian of the sacred territory and a builder of a happy homeland. From 2017 to 2021, a total of 19.47 billion yuan was invested in developing 624 prosperous villages in border areas. The first- and second-tier administrative villages in border areas have implemented "eight projects", "nine constructions", and "10 facilities" in villages, truly realizing the continuous improvement of living conditions in border areas and frontiers.

All 21 border counties and cities have access to asphalt roads, and all border townships and administrative villages are reachable by highways. By consistently advancing the extension and coverage of the main power grid, Xizang has completed the four major grid projects—the Qinghai-Xizang power grid interconnection, Sichuan-Xizang power grid interconnection, central Xizang power grid interconnection, and Ngari power grid interconnection. As a result, all border cities, counties, and townships in Xizang are now integrated into the main power grid, which contributes to the power grid's reach into the border areas. The basic public services and social security systems in border cities have gradually improved, with junior high schools present in all counties and central primary schools and kindergartens established in townships. People of all ethnic groups gain a more complete and lasting sense of fulfillment, happiness, and security.
