Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has attached great importance to the work on the Xizang Autonomous Region and cared for the Xizang people. To change the situation that Xizang lacks medical care and medicine and has a weak educational foundation, the CPC Central Committee made major decisions and arrangements to carry out group-based support for Xizang at the Sixth National Meeting on Xizang, opening a new chapter of officials and talent to support Xizang.

General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out at the Seventh National Meeting on Xizang of the CPC Central Committee that in recent years, all regions and departments have continuously strengthened and improved their work in providing support to Xizang. They have adopted new ways such as "group-based assistance" to help solve many people's livelihood problems in Xizang and achieved good political and social effects. He mentioned that we should conscientiously sum up experience and create a new pattern for the work of supporting Xizang.
